Call for Competition

Qanat* Explorer Design

Organizer: FUM-MVLab (mvlab.um.ac.ir) and VEERASENSE Co. (www.veerasense.com)

In this competition, we aim to push engineers and researchers to present a conceptual design of an explorer with the ability to traverse along Qanats and gather various data.

FEATURES

Your design should address several features including, but not limited to, the following key functionalities:

• Exploring long Qanats up to 30km
• Online data transmission to a control system
• Having manual control (not autonomous)
• Being equipped with different sensors
• Keeping or preparing enough energy for going all the path
• Moving on water and land

PROCESS

The competition has two rounds. In the first round, each team submits their primary idea in a maximum 4-page proposal format. Authors should clearly address the main predicted problems for such explorers and briefly present their solutions. Owners of accepted ideas in the first round, should complete their idea and accordingly, prepare a technical document and a 5-min video to send for the second-round revision.

All participants being accepted for the second round of the competition will receive conference certification
