In accordance with the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), FUM Press permits reviewers to use AI (artificial intelligence) and LLM (large language model) tools solely for language-related assistance, such as paraphrasing, grammar and spelling correction, improving readability, and enhancing the clarity of their review reports. These tools must not replace the reviewers’ independent academic judgment, critical assessment, or expertise in evaluating a manuscript. Reviewers must not rely on AI tools to make decisions regarding the originality, scientific validity, significance, or acceptance of a manuscript, nor should they upload confidential manuscripts or unpublished research to AI tools without appropriate authorization and adequate safeguards. Reviewers remain fully responsible and accountable for the accuracy, confidentiality, integrity, and impartiality of their reviews. AI tools cannot be credited as reviewers, and their use must comply with FUM Press policies on confidentiality, research integrity, and ethical peer review. Reviewers bear full responsibility for any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions arising from their use of AI or LLM tools.
